This is the worst and most unreliable microwave I have ever had. I've had it for about 4 years, and after one problem after another, it's finally at an unusable state. I've used a lot of other microwaves, and have only had to replace them because of style or feature preferences, but this will be the first one that I have to replace because it's completely unusable. Here are the problems that I've had in order of how they occurred:1.

When closing the door, a random number would occasionally appear on the display. I could always clear the display and just continue to use the microwave as normal. So this was just an inconvenience that I've just learned to live with.2. Over time, the door switch would act erratically, so sometimes when the door was clearly closed, the door switch wouldn't register it, so the microwave wouldn't allow me to heat up anything in it.

Generally opening and closing it again a couple of times would eventually solve this. Again, I just learned to live with this.3. The bottom of the door handle broke away from the door. I've always been very careful to gently pull and close the microwave because a technician told me that this and the door close switch was a common problem on this model of microwave. The handle broke away because of a very cheap and weak plastic part that holds it to the door. Search online and you'll see a lot of other people that have had this exact same problem.4. And finally, the door hinge started to click late last year.

It's gotten stiffer over time, and finally in the past week, the door just stopped opening all the way. When we try to open it all the way, the door hinge causes something internally to bind and bend the front door panel. It appears as a dent on the front door.

But more importantly, the door can no longer be opened more than a few inches, so it's essentially useless now.I originally got this microwave for it's elegant design and unique combination of features such as: 'glass' control panel instead of plastic, 'lower' positioned buttons so it's easier to reach for my wife, convection oven combination (although we didn't find that it functioned that well, so we have only used it twice), +30Sec and Quick Start Buttons, etc. It's too bad that just after a few years that it has to be replaced. I've had cheapo apartment microwaves last longer than this. It's really very disappointing. This is the worst and most unreliable microwave I have ever had. It's really very disappointing. There are many great things about this microwave! I purchased it because I wanted one with a high CFM and also to have an additional oven to bake in when needed. At 400 CFM this microwave is as high as they get and because the air is pulled from close to the source it has excellent external ventilation. The microwaving portion cooks very evenly because it has both a turntable and a stirrer blade. Not all microwaves can claim that.

The sensor cook works well, but seems to be less accurate when you cover the food with a paper towel to prevent splatters. The convection cooking feature works pretty well; a half size cookie sheet pan will fit with some room to spare. Baked goods don't achieve the same even browning that a conventional/convection oven can produce, but I'm glad to have it. I have also used the convection setting for bread proofing because it will allow for a 100 degree oven temp which cannot be achieved on ovens because the minimum allowable temp is 170 unless it has a bread proofing setting. The lighting for the cooking surface is placed in the center and brighter than every other microwave I have owned, and in addition to overhead lights in the kitchen my cooking surface is well lit. The touch glass controls are easy to clean and besides, they look really cool.

The features on the control panel are well layed out and the electronic readout gives you scrolling help information if you aren't sure which button to push next. The scrolling feature also reminds you of other features that are available. I love the look of it and it complements by Electrolux induction range! I bought this microwave 10 months ago and I'm already on my second unit and will probably need a 3rd. The unit does the exact same as 'kipman' 's review.

The unit gives an F1 error code and the unit shuts off. The inside panel is scorched and looks terrible. This unit replaced a still functioning convection unit that I loved and was a HUGE disappointment. First unit also had an insanely loud turntable motor that you couldn't even talk over.

Over Range Microwave Reviews

Motor and control panel replaced but did not correct this issue. New unit has not had that problem.

Phone customer service has been good to deal with but the product itself is junk. Shipping company that came to install the new unit came without a ladder and had me running around the house to find and carry a six foot ladder with my 1 year old in my arms.

Also did not know how to install the unit and would not read the book to install it correctly. They had me do it. Seems as though many others have this same issue with this uni.
